Dua/Reminder to avoid pride in times of success: Haza min fadli rabbi

“This is by the grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful, it is only for their own good. But whoever is ungrateful, surely my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Most Generous.”

To remember that ups and downs of life is a test…it is easy to remember Allah in times of sadness but very difficult in times of success.

Context : 27.An-Naml.
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, “I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you.” And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, “This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful – his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful – then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous.”
Here Suliman Alehesalam who is a king when he realized the power he has been given and dominion he has in his control … he did not become intoxicated with pride … but remembered Allah !!!! he recognized reality … and that is what we should also remember in times of success and power and when we realize a favor of Allah upon us … we should attribute it to Allah and remember that we are being tested through this.
